Roxanne Strike

Roxanne Strike is a communications professional focused on increasing stakeholder engagement, garnering media hits, and writing compelling narratives tailored to diverse audiences. Her earned placements include Forbes.com, Shape magazine, The Dallas Morning News, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, Vox, and numerous regional and local outlets. Strike is dedicated to strengthening clients’ brands as experts in their fields and identifying opportunities to pitch clients and their work to industry leaders and publications.

Before joining Lovell Communications, an HMA Company, Strike was communications director for the Iowa Hospital Association, where she oversaw the strategic communications plan. Under her leadership, the organization’s earned media increased 93 percent over a one-year period. She increased newsletter open and click-through rates by 30 percent by adjusting content to audience needs based on survey and data analytics. She also increased LinkedIn followers by 40 percent using Hootsuite datalytics to improve message targeting.

Strike led the production process for multiple award-winning campaigns that were recognized for their inventiveness and engagement. Her “I’ve Had It!” traditional and social media COVID-19 vaccine campaign for the Iowa Hospital Association received a gold Healthcare Ad Award. For Goodstock & Co., Ms. Strike’s “I am a Georgia Voter” and “Vote Loud” campaign kits won Reed Awards for best rapid response piece of campaign merchandise and best piece of campaign merchandise. As a consultant with the Integer Group, her influencer marketing campaign with mom bloggers promoted the release of a new healthy snack food culminating in Shape magazine featuring her client and garnering 50,000 social media followers in the first week of launch.

Demonstrating her capabilities as marketing coordinator, Strike oversaw a complete rebrand and website refresh for Green Hills Retirement Community, representing a more active lifestyle and positioning the retirement community to engage younger retirees. She acted as a spokesperson at community and Iowa State University events and created a monthly webinar series on community benefits, available units, and upcoming events. The retirement community’s resulting reputation as a trusted leader in the continuum of care, along with monthly events engaging prospective residents, led to a 90 percent occupancy rate in the independent living units.

Further establishing the effectiveness of her community engagement efforts, Strike oversaw a public outreach program for the Hard Rock Casino while working with LS2Group. The plan included a letter to the editor campaign, key government relations, event planning, and client coordination. These initiatives resulted in the Hard Rock Casino winning a gaming license over three competitors in Sioux City, Iowa.

Strike’s hard skills include proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, AP Style, Cision, Final Cut Pro, Lightworks, WordPress, WooCommerce, and social media platforms. She has experience in design, photography, event planning, and project management.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Southern Methodist University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree in policy from Des Moines University.
